My Review of the Grant Research Guide.

I wanted to share my experience with getting a government grant.

Surfing on the net one day I came across a scam report for product called the grant research guide review.

After reading through the report where the customer complained about the customer support and getting charged for items they did not sign up for, I was naturally concerned, and decided to research it further.

I found out that many of these websites do seem to charge for bizarre items, but that they do offer a free trial first.

For example they might give you a free CD that steps you through the process of applying for the grant charging a few bucks for postage, but then sign you up to some trial offer of a membership site about small business.

The information about what all these programs sign you up for is often buried in the fine print, and as a result the problem maybe isn’t being charged for items they did not sign up for, but rather the person had not read the fine print.

A questionable business practice? Possibly, but if it helps me get a government grant, and I figure out a way to beat these guys at their own game, I am all for it!

I felt it a little off putting at first, but then realized that these government grant websites are giving away a value item for free, and are obviously trying to make some money somehow, perhaps banking on the fact that many people will just accept the charge.

If you’re smart though, you can beat these guys easily. I am living proof of this.

A smart consumer should be able to get out of this by reading the fine print and ensuring that you cancel these extra services or memberships within the trial period. E.g. Before the trial period elapses.

I took the time to sign up for the grant master guide (read the review by clicking the link at the start of this article).

The fine print mentioned that if I ordered the CD (or took up the instant download) I would get billed for a membership. However the billing does not occur until the trial period (7 days in this case) has finished. So you get to try out the membership for this time without costing you anything extra so long as you cancel within 7 days.

Long story short. I tried out the service. The CD took ages to arrive, but when I finally got it, I found after a bit of reading that it all made sense, and it showed me how to go about applying for government grants.

Everything was laid out in a step by step process.

As soon as you sign up you get an email with details about the membership. Don’t wait for the CD to arrive as it’s likely your trial will have ended, and you will be charged the monthly membership free.

Do what I do, I signed up and ordered the CD, waited 2 days, and then rang and cancelled the membership. There was a 1 800 number I called.

Simple, painless (well the guy on the phone was a little hard to understand) and I never got charged.

As I say the CD eventually arrived, and I have applied for a grant. Can’t wait to find out how I went with it.

I should have taken the download option, next time I would do that as that would have saved me time waiting for the CD to arrive.

Interestingly enough, during my google searches, I found a government grant review website that actually provides a detailed review of each product.

What was really cool is that it actually details all these hidden charges and tells you the number of trial days for each website, and also tells you the charges you will get if you do not cancel, etc.

I wish I had found these guys earlier as it would have saved me some time. There was no cost for their services, and no hidden catches. That was a nice surprise.

Check out their website now to read up on government grant reviews.

I found it refreshing that there is people willing to put up consumer help websites like this.

It makes me want to set one up as well (but I no nothing about programmer).

My son Mike has put this page up for me. He is a Geek, but I am computer “challenged” let is say!

Bye for now

Government Education Grant

Free Federal Government School Grants

Because there are so many schools in the U.S. and because foundations would be inundated with grant requests, some foundations will not allow schools to apply for grants, but will give government grants for school to non-profit organizations that support schools. While schools are eligible to receive grants from the federal government, state, county and city governments, as well as from some private and corporate foundations, schools should set up a separate 501(c)(3) organization to be eligible to apply for all school grants.

There are many sites specialize in the arena of school grants for educational nonprofit organizations. They have track records of success in writing school grants for elementary-secondary education, technology, healthcare, science, literacy programs, economic development and labor-management cooperation. Economic Development Grants

Government grants for small businesses are typically awarded to communities to revitalize, expand and upgrade their physical infrastructure to attract new industry, encourage business expansion, diversify local economies, and generate or retain long-term, private sector jobs and investment. Local governments, state governments, and the federal government all provide economic development grants. Private foundations and trusts, as well as corporate foundations and trusts also award grants for economic development.

Economic development grants from the federal government are normally awarded through the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration. The mission of EDA is to lead the Federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness, preparing American regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy. The EDA has seven different economic development grants programs:

Community Development Grants

Government business grants are typically awarded to communities for building and renovation projects that improve housing and public service facilities for low to moderate income people. Community development grants from the federal government are awarded through the U.S.

Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Helping more low- and moderate-income Americans become homeowners is a national priority. President Bush, HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson, and our Blueprint Partners for the American Dream are committed to helping everyone – especially first-time homebuyers and minority families – take advantage of new opportunities to own their own homes through community development grants. While HUD does not offer direct community development grants or loans to individuals, they do work through local governments and non-profit organizations to make financial assistance and counseling available.

Private foundations and trusts, as well as corporate foundations and trusts all award community development grants as well, and like HUD, they do not offer direct grants to individuals. There are over 2,000 private foundations in the United States that give community development grants with total giving that ranges from $462 million to less than $100,000.
